Melanoma Institute Australia Tax Appeal 2020

"I literally owe my life to the work that is being done at MIA."  Danny

We're living through unprecedented times. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic we have adapted to new ways of working to protect our staff, our patients and our community. Our passionate and committed clinical care teams continue to deliver ground-breaking treatments and to progress life-saving research.

However, it has been a challenging time with a financial impact and our ability to raise funds has been reduced. We need your support to help us continue our research and save more lives like Danny’s.

Danny, pictured with wife Lisa and daughter Gabby, proudly calls himself a melanoma survivor. Danny, who had melanoma in his brain and tumours throughout his body, was placed on an immunotherapy clinical trial. It proved to be life-saving.

Thanks to generous supporters, melanoma research has come so far. But we still have a long way to go and need your support now.

Melanoma is still the most common cancer affecting 15 to 39-year-old Australians and one Australian dies from melanoma every five hours.

Your generous support, by setting up a fundraising page or making a donation, will allow us to continue our research effort until we achieve our mission of zero deaths from melanoma.

With tax time approaching it’s the perfect time to make a tax-deductible donation.

Could help fund super frost slides, used under the microscope to further understand melanoma – enabling personalised treatments.

Could help fund pioneering research – where one of our researchers could make a major discovery or breakthrough.

Could help educate schools, companies and community groups about sun-safety and increase their awareness of melanoma.

Could enable a Clinical Nurse Consultant to provide support to advanced melanoma patients.
